At SAI, we pride ourselves in promoting the safe and responsible use and ownership of firearms, and sponsoring innovative training for the civilian enthusiast, military, and law enforcement communities.
Concealed Weapons Carry Course. (CW001) We routinely teach this course to individuals, groups, and even families. It satisfies the requirement for the Florida State Concealed Carry Permit. The interactive "lecture" is given on our premises, then the "range" portion follows under the supervision of our NRA-certified instructors. Most of these courses are scheduled on a Saturday; but we also offer them on split weekdays. We have the state permit application on hand, and we can notarize it for you. One-on-one, private training is also available.
Defensive Pistol Shooting Course. (DP001) A basic level course that presents common practical applications in defensive shooting. Offered by our instructors, as well as by our partner training houses.
Defensive Pistol Shooting Course II. (DP002) An intermediate version of DP001. More targets, more movement, more situational awareness.
Pistol Shooting Drills. (PSD001) Small groups in special drill sessions small groups practicing safe pistol shooting, moving, and communicating. The experience may involve reactive targets, transitions, obstacles, and use of cover.
Tactical Firearms Course. (TF001) These courses range from beginner to advanced, and they are normally categorized into pistol, carbine, and shotgun. We frequently sponsor these courses on behalf of a number of local training houses.
Youth/Teen Firearms Safety Course. (YT001) This is a firearm safety class that is designed for pre-teens and teens 10 and over. This class has been especially designed to teach your child firearm safety and shooting fundamentals in a safe and fun environment. After a safety and fundamentals lecture and a provided lunch (pizza and soda), students will shoot various rifles and pistols in multiple calibers under the constant eye and close control of an NRA-certified instructor. We understand that parents share our instructors' concern for safety which is why no student will handle a firearm unless it is under the direct 1:1 supervision and control of one of our instructors. This class promises to be a fun yet highly educational course. Class size is restricted so please register early to guarantee a spot. Includes Range Costs, Pistol/Rifle Ammo, Loaner Rifle/Pistol, Lunch and Certificate of Completion!
Specialty Training Course. (ST001) Periodically, we will promote specialized training in precision rifle, explosive breaching, and hand-to-hand combat offered by our top local training schools.
NRA Range Safety Officer Course. (NRA001) The NRA Range Safety Officer Course develops NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. This course is nine hours long and is conducted in a classroom and at a shooting facility. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions.
NRA Law Enforcement Handgun/Shotgun Instructor Course. (NRA002) The NRA Law Enforcement Handgun/Shotgun Instructor Course teaches students classroom instructional methods, how to effectively teach firearm operator skills, and how to develop dynamic and practical range training relevant to their agency's needs. Drills on the range enforce skills in the areas of coaching, accurate shot placement, multiple threats, decision-making, shooting while moving, identifying threats and firing in reduced light, tactical use of cover, one-handed malfunction clearing, firing from unconventional positions, transition to the handgun, and use of verbal commands.
NRA Certified Pistol Instructor Course. (NRA003) The NRA Certified Pistol Instructor Course helps you develop the knowledge, skills and techniques needed to organize and teach courses in the NRA Basic Firearm Training Program. Instructor training courses are conducted by NRA Training Counselors. Your responsibilities as a NRA Certified Instructor include: Conducting NRA Basic Courses in accordance with policies and procedures outlined by NRA. Upholding the quality and integrity of national firearm safety and training standards established by NRA. Promoting firearm safety and the shooting sports. Reporting training data to NRA. Knowing how to shoot is an important requirement for NRA instructors, but you will also need to know how to teach others to shoot.
Personal Protection in the Home Course. (NRA004) The Personal Protection in the Home Course develops in the student the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun in the home for protection of self and family, and provides information on the law-abiding citizen’s right to self defense. Topics covered include basic defensive handgun skills, Florida Statutes - Chapter 776, home safety, selecting a handgun for self-defense.
Close Combat Self Defense Course. (CC001) This very special seminar exposes participants to all aspects of CLOSE COMBAT SELF-DEFENSE - including full-contact combat, take downs, falls & blocks, gun & knife threats. The course utilizes the advanced techniques of mixed martial arts fighting and is taught by a well-respected instructor and former member of the Israeli Special Forces with over 30 years of experience in close combat fighting and instruction. This training will help you develop the ability to escape from almost any situation virtually unharmed, including firearm, knife, and club attacks from within 5 feet or less.
Women's Self-Protection Course. (WS001) The Women's Self-Protection Course Series focuses on skills that can enable a woman to avoid, resist, and survive situations ranging from low levels of aggression to extremely violent assault. Our trainers have more than 20 years of experience in street self-defense as instructors in martial arts and law enforcement. The weekend seminar will help to sharpen your instincts, decrease your reaction time, and overcome an opponent with skill rather than brute force.
Florida 'D' Unarmed Security Officer License 24-Hour Course. (FLD024). The “D” License Course will provide the basic requirements and certification necessary to be able to work legally as an unarmed security officer, as per the Florida State Statutes Section 493. SAI will assist with job placement for successful candidates following the course.
Florida 'D' Unarmed Security Officer License 16-Hour Course. (FLD016). The 16-hour course must be taken within 90 days of completing the initial 24-hour course in order to satisfy the 40-hour training requirement, as per the Florida Statutes Section 493. This course is scheduled upon completion of the 24-hour course.
Florida 'G' Statewide Firearms License Course. (FLG024). The “G” License Course will provide the skills and certification necessary to apply for a Class “G” Statewide Firearms License in the state of Florida, as per the Florida State Statutes Section 493, 775, and 790.
Florida 'G' Statewide Firearms License Annual Requalification Course. (FLGREQ). 4 hours of classroom time, followed by written examination and range time.
